BIO / Daylen Jones

Daylen Jones is an award-winning actor, playwright and musician known for his energetic stage presence and colorful versatility. He is based in Charlotte, NC where he works at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte as a touring actor. He also has worked with Three Bone Theatre and Arts for All as a resident artist taking on roles such as Assistant Director, Assistant Stage Manager, Playwright and Performer for numerous productions.

Daylen has portrayed notable roles, including Love in Three Bone Theatre’s Production of Thoughts of a Colored Man and Antipholus of Ephesus in Shepherd Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors. Recently, he performed in the staged reading of Yo This is What it Is, a new play about overcoming drug addiction, as Actor 1 for Common Thread Collective’s new play series. Furthermore, he has assistant directed an adaptation of Antigone which he co- wrote with Arts for All. Additionally he has co-written adaptations of Macbeth and Pirates of Penzance.

Daylen’s original play Being vs. Becoming was selected to be featured in the 2024 Teacher Penned Play Festival at Arts for All. He was also selected to be one of six playwrights for Post Mortem Players’ Inaugural 24 Hour Play Festival that year for which he wrote a play titled Now is the Time.

Daylen is the 2024 recipient of the Metrolina Theatre Association Emerging Artist of the Year Award.

Next up, a collaboration with Charlotte based nonprofit: Hearts for the Invisible, to produce an original play about their work in the community to combat homelessness set for the Spring of 2026.
